How to play Aviator: the complete beginner's guide

When you open Aviator inside a licensed bookmaker, the screen has four zones. Learn these and the rest is instinct.

• Top bar — recent rounds. A horizontal strip of coloured chips (1.42×, 3.10×, 1.05×, 12.40×…) showing where the last rounds crashed. Blue chips are under 2×, purple 2–10×, pink over 10×. It is history only — it does not predict the next round.
• Centre — the stage. The red plane takes off from the bottom-left, the multiplier curve rises, and the big white number in the middle (e.g. 2.45×) is your potential payout for a cash-out right now. A FLYING badge appears while the round is live.
• Left — live bets. A live list of everyone in the round: masked usernames, bet sizes in Rand, and a green tag if they already cashed out (showing their multiplier). This is the social proof — you are never playing alone.
• Bottom — two bet panels. This is where you actually play. Two identical panels side by side, so you can place two independent bets per round. Each has the controls below.

Every button on a bet panel

Each of the two bet panels has the same five controls. Here is what each one does.

Two panels = two strategies in one round. The classic move is to set a small "safety" bet on panel 1 with Auto Cash Out at 1.80×, and a bigger "runner" bet on panel 2 with no auto cash-out — chase a higher multiplier with house money already banked.

The round timeline, second by second

A full round has three phases. Once you feel them, the game stops feeling random.

1. Betting window (~5 seconds). The plane is on the runway. Both BET buttons are active. Set your stakes, press BET on whichever panels you want, and toggle Auto Cash Out / Auto Bet if you use them. When the window closes, the buttons lock.
2. Flight (a few seconds). The plane takes off and the multiplier climbs from 1.00×. The CASH OUT button replaces BET and shows your live payout (R 12.25 for a R5 bet at 2.45×). Decide now — every tick the number rises, but so does the chance the plane flies.
3. Crash. The plane flies away. Anyone who didn't cash out loses that panel's bet. The final multiplier is added to the top history bar, winnings are credited, and the next betting window opens within seconds.

Your first R5 round, worked end to end

Let's walk a real round with R5 on a single panel.

1. Set R5 in the bet amount box (tap + until it reads 5.00).
2. Press BET. The button locks. You are in.
3. The plane takes off. The multiplier reads 1.00×, then 1.20×, 1.50×… The CASH OUT button shows your live payout: at 1.50× it reads R 7.50.
4. You decide 2× is your target. The multiplier reaches 2.00× — you tap CASH OUT.
5. A green + R 10.00 flashes. You doubled your R5. The plane keeps climbing, maybe to 5×, maybe it crashes at 2.10× — it no longer matters to you. You banked R10.

If you had waited for 5× and the plane crashed at 2.10×, you would have lost the R5. That is the entire game: pick a multiplier, decide your nerve, cash out in time.

The payout table (and the maths behind it)

Your payout is bet × multiplier. Here is the full table for common stakes, plus the real probability of the round reaching each multiplier.

The chance column uses the real Aviator crash maths: P(round reaches x) = 0.97 ÷ x. So 2× is reached ~48.5% of the time, 10× only ~9.7%, and a 100× dream round just under 1% of the time. This is why "aim low, win often" is the sustainable way to play — and why no predictor can beat it.

Two-bet strategies that actually use the panels

Because Aviator gives you two panels, you can run a hedge. The two most common honest approaches:

• The 1.5× / runner. Panel 1: small bet, Auto Cash Out at 1.50× (banks a 50% profit most rounds). Panel 2: bigger bet, no auto cash-out, let it ride for a high multiplier. Panel 1 covers the dry rounds; panel 2 is your upside.
• The equal split. Same stake both panels, Auto Cash Out at 2.00× on both. Lower variance, smaller peaks — a calm way to learn the rhythm without big swings.

Neither system changes the 97% RTP — over the long run the house edge is unchanged — but they shape how you experience the variance. Never bet more than you can afford to walk away from.

Auto Cash Out and Auto Bet, in detail

• Auto Cash Out is the most useful button in the game. Set it to your target (say 2.00×) and the panel cashes out the instant the multiplier crosses it — no reaction-time gap, no second-guessing. It will not always trigger if the round crashes before your target, because the plane already flew.
• Auto Bet re-places the same stake every round. Combine it with Auto Cash Out and you have a fully hands-free cycle: switch it off the moment your focus drops or your budget is spent.

Tips for your first session

• Play the free demo first. Run 20–30 rounds with virtual credits before any Rand goes in. Get the timing into muscle memory.
• Start small. R1–R5 per panel is plenty to feel the real game. Stake sizes you would spend on a coffee, not a bill.
• Set Auto Cash Out before you need it. Decide your target while the betting window is open, not mid-flight.
• Treat two panels as two decisions. It is easy to forget panel 2 while watching panel 1 — use Auto Cash Out on the one you won't actively watch.
• Stop when it stops being fun. Set a deposit limit at the bookmaker before you start, and a time limit. Never chase a loss.
